EMU’s AIMS

 1.    To be an independent user group and to seek out and put forward the user view on mental health issues.

 2.    To promote and ensure the best treatment for potential and present mental health service users.

3.    To promote and ensure better care and understanding of people with mental health problems and to challenge apathy within the mental health system.

 4.    To challenge apathy and ignorance within the community and to work towards more positive images of people with mental health problems.

 5.    To challenge tokenism and ensure that everyone is respected as an individual and given the same opportunity as others.

 6.    To liaise with providers to explore the possibility of change to meet patients needs.
